Dear Friends, Let's turn the page on this summer of power outages, flooded basements and bickering politicians. Instead, welcome the earth tones, plums, raspberries and ranges of grays that help signal fall, and the cool, dry weather ahead. The exciting news is that there is no single theme to the season - rather there is an invitation to mix things together you may never have thought about. Stripes and prints, plaids and tartans, sweaters and fur, paper-thin leather dresses and lace, long skirts and high slits. As you enter into the new season, stretch your mind and your wardrobe to find new combinations. Some of you may be at the stage in life where you've heard it said that the Mother of the Groom has three responsibilities: Show Up, Shut Up and Wear Beige. We encourage you to ignore this advice at all cost (as we both recently did.) This season, wear colors and fabrics to capture attention.
